Can Avvi act on the wrong client by mistake?
The client comes from the picker and is checked on every request, so Avvi cannot drift. The real risk is a person aiming a correct request at the wrong one.
The client a request acts on comes from the picker and is checked again on every single request. There is no path by which a conversation wanders onto a different client between messages.
Ownership is checked at the same time. A request aimed at a client your organisation does not manage is refused and recorded as a security event.
The realistic risk is not the system choosing wrongly. It is a person making a correct request with the wrong client selected, which reads perfectly well right up until the confirmation names somebody else’s company.
How it works
The conversation stores which client it was started against, and every request reads it back from there rather than from the message. That stored client never changes.
Nothing you type changes it. No instruction, no phrasing, and no mention of another client’s name switches the target.
Each request then checks that the client belongs to your organisation, that your organisation may work across clients, that your access group allows it, and that the client has not opted out. Failing any of those refuses the request.
The client is named on every confirmation, which is where a human notices the mismatch.
Good to know
Refusals for the wrong organisation are recorded as security events rather than ordinary errors, so an attempt to reach another organisation’s client leaves a trail.
A conversation started before clients were stamped may not carry one. Starting fresh is safer than assuming.
What to do next
Read the client on the confirmation before approving anything. That single habit catches the whole failure mode.
Expect a new conversation each time you change client. A conversation is never moved across.
If a change did reach the wrong client, ask for the opposite straight away in a conversation set to that client, then check what cannot be undone.
FAQ
Q: Could Avvi mix two clients up in one request?
A: No. One conversation acts on one client, read from the conversation rather than the message.
Q: What if I have two clients with similar names?
A: The picker searches by name and the confirmation names the one chosen. Read it.
Q: Is an attempt to reach another organisation’s client only an error?
A: No. It is refused and recorded as a security event.
