The limits worth knowing about
The figures that decide whether something is possible, gathered in one place. Most are about time rather than quantity.
Most of these are about time. How long something stays valid, how far back a search reaches, how long you have to answer.
Knowing them in advance turns several confusing failures into expected ones. A code that stopped working and a search that found nothing are usually a limit rather than a fault.
Figures your own organisation sets, such as how much a client may use in a day, are not here because they differ per organisation.
| Limit | Figure |
|---|---|
| Images attached to one message | 3, up to 5 MB each |
| Image formats accepted | JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP |
| How long a confirmation stays valid | About 30 minutes |
| Install code for a single machine | 15 minutes |
| Connector marked offline after | 5 minutes without checking in |
| How often a connector checks for updates | Hourly |
| How often scheduled work is picked up | Every 30 seconds |
| Temporary access pass lifetime | 10 minutes to 30 days, 60 minutes by default |
| Secure link lifetime | 1 hour to 7 days |
| Secure link views | Once, three, five or ten |
| Avvi support access grant | 7 days, or until revoked |
| Quarantine search reaches back | The client’s own quarantine retention. Avvi applies no window |
| Delivery history reaches back | About 90 days, defaulting to the last two |
| Sharing audit reaches back | 7 days at most |
| Risky user list | Up to 100 accounts |
| Context budget, in tokens | 175,000 to 500,000, and 175,000 by default. Set for your organisation, with an optional override per client |
Good to know
Quarantine is the one row here that is not Avvi’s figure. Avvi searches whatever that client’s quarantine still holds, so the reach depends on their retention policy.
A confirmation left unanswered for half an hour stops working. Asking again is quicker than replying to a stale one.
