What the daily summary email is

A digest of the day's activity, sent to the support mailbox. It is skipped entirely on a day when nothing happened, which reads as a delivery failure.

The daily summary is a digest of what Avvi changed across your clients that day. It arrives at the support mailbox your organisation configured, with the date and the number of actions in the subject line.

The summary counts every recorded tool run, lookups included, not only the ones that changed something. Only a day with no Avvi activity at all produces no email.

Four separate things can stop it, and only one of them is the summary’s own setting.

How it works

The summary is sent once a day, and only when there is activity to report.

The summary goes to the support mailbox address. Changing that address changes where the summary lands.

A day with no activity produces no email. Any other day produces one, with the count in the subject.

The summary is not sent twice. A day already covered is not covered again.

Good to know

An unset support mailbox stops the summary as well as escalations. Both depend on the same address.

Turning off the switch that sends support email stops the summary too, even though the two look unrelated in the interface.

The summary sends by default. Turning Daily summary only on gives you the digest and switches off every individual event email, and turning it back off stops the digest and resets the event list to its defaults.

The count in the subject is the day’s total across all your clients. Filtering the record is how you break it down.

What to do next

If a control is greyed out, your account is not allowed to change it. The setting is not broken and nothing is missing from the page.

If a setting is absent rather than greyed, the feature is switched off for your whole organisation rather than for you.

If the control works and saving fails, Avvi replies “Master admin access required”. That is the same permission problem, reported when you save rather than before.

Confirm the support mailbox is set and that the switch for sending support email is on. Without both, the summary never sends.

Open Settings, find What to send, and check whether Daily summary only is on. Turning it on gives you the digest instead of the individual event emails, and Save notifications stores the choice.

To see one client’s activity instead, open Logs, filter by Client, and export.

FAQ

Q: The setting is greyed out and I cannot change it.

A: Your account is not allowed to change that setting. Ask an administrator with full access to change it for you, or to add your group to the permission.

Q: Who do I ask to get access?

A: Any administrator with full access in Avvi. Tell them which setting you were trying to reach and what you needed to change.

Q: Nothing arrived yesterday. Is it broken?

A: Probably not. The count follows what is in Logs, so a day of lookups alone still produces an email.

Q: Who receives it?

A: The support mailbox address configured for your organisation.

Q: Can I get one per client?

A: The summary covers the organisation. Use the record and filter by client for a single client’s activity.

Q: Can I get only the summary and nothing else?

A: Yes. Turn on Daily summary only in What to send and the individual event list is replaced by it.

Choose which notifications Avvi sends is where you turn the summary on, off, or down to a digest.
