Check what Avvi did after you asked
Avvi reports what it did in the conversation itself, and says when a request has been logged with IT support. Reading the reply is the check.
Avvi reports back in the conversation. The reply after a change says what was done, and the reply before it says exactly what is about to be done.
Reading those two messages is the whole check. Nowhere else needs to be opened.
Anything that changes something is also recorded for your IT team, and Avvi tells you so at the time.
Before you begin
Keep the conversation open until you have read the reply. Scrolling back is easy, but people close the tab and then wonder.
Know what you asked for in your own words, so you can compare it against what Avvi says it did.
Read what happened
- Look at the confirmation Avvi showed before it acted. It names the person, the change and what will happen.
- Look at the reply after you confirmed. It reports what was done.
- Look for the line saying the request has been logged with IT support.
- If anything is unclear, ask Avvi in the same conversation what it did.
Asking again in the same conversation is the reliable way to check, because Avvi still has the context of what you asked.
Good to know
Avvi will not change anything without showing you a confirmation first. A conversation with no confirmation in it changed nothing.
Cancelling at the confirmation leaves nothing behind. Nothing is recorded as a completed change.
Verify it worked
Check the thing itself where you can. If you asked for access to a mailbox, open your mail and look for it.
Some changes take a few minutes to appear. Restarting Outlook is worth trying before deciding something failed.
If something doesn’t look right
If Avvi says it did something and you cannot see it, wait a few minutes and look again before reporting it.
If the reply reports only part of what you asked, say so in the same conversation. Avvi can pick up the rest.
If Avvi reported an error, quote it back and ask what to do next.
If it still does not add up, ask Avvi to send the question to your IT team.
