Can two people work on the same client at once?
Yes, and nothing locks the client. Each conversation carries its own approvals, so the risk is two people making conflicting changes.
Two administrators can work on the same client at the same time. Nothing locks a client while somebody is using it, and neither person is blocked or warned.
Each conversation is separate. Approvals belong to the conversation they were given in, so one person cannot approve a change another person set up.
The risk is therefore human rather than technical. Two people making sensible changes without knowing about each other is the failure worth guarding against.
How it works
Each conversation carries its own client and its own pending approvals.
An approval is specific to the change it describes and cannot be reused for another, in the same conversation or any other.
Both sets of changes are recorded against the client with the person who made them, so the record shows who did what and when.
Nothing merges the two conversations. Avvi in one has no knowledge of what is being discussed in the other.
Good to know
Last change wins, in the ordinary sense. Where two people change the same thing, the later change is the one that stands.
Scheduled work from either person still runs at its time regardless of what the other has done since. It is also invisible to the other person, because asking what is scheduled shows only your own upcoming work.
What to do next
Before a significant change on a client, ask Avvi what was done recently for it, or filter the record by that client.
Ask the colleague directly what they have queued. Nothing in Avvi will show you their scheduled work, so a conversation is the only way to find out.
Where two of you are working the same incident, agree who is making changes and have the other stay read-only.
FAQ
Q: Will I be warned that a colleague is working on this client?
A: No. Nothing locks the client or notifies you.
Q: Can somebody else approve a change I set up?
A: No. An approval belongs to the conversation it was given in.
Q: How do I see what a colleague did?
A: The record shows every action that has run, with the person who made it. Filter it by client.
Q: How do I see what a colleague has scheduled?
A: You cannot. Scheduled work is only listed for the person who created it, so ask them.
